Biographical Sketch: Sue Noon
Sue Noon’s expressive acrylic paintings utilize brilliant color and impasto textures
in abstract or whimsical subjects. She especially enjoys the periodic challenge
of palette knife painting. Her subject matter covers a broad range including
florals, landscapes, still lifes, abstracts and a series of delightful
children’s art.
Known for her handling of color and exciting interpretations, Sue’s painting have appeared in “Art Alive 2008” and “Off the Wall 2009, 2010, 2011 and 2012”, all exhibits at the Riverside Art Museum. She had a show with her son Michael at Oak Valley Piano in Redlands in 2010 and has participated in art shows at Canyon Crest in Riverside, the Ayers Hotel in Redlands, Montessori School, Relish’s Deli and “Within Radius” at Trinity Lutheran Church.
She shows regularly at Riverside Community Arts Association, the Riverside Art Museum, the Redlands Art Association and the Art Colony galleries. Her work has been in numerous juried shows and she was featured artist at Redlands Art Association in 2009, the Peoples’ Gallery in 2010 and Redlands Art Association in 2013. Her paintings, prints, cards and tiles can be found in boutiques, alternative spaces and galleries around the
Inland Empire.
Sue is a retired English teacher and was for many years on-site coordinator for GATE, the Gifted and Talented Education program at Montclair High School in the Chaffey District. Winner of several scholarship honors, Sue is a member of Phi Kappa Phi scholastic honorary. A member of PEN Women, she has published poetry and
nonfiction.
Sue is the mother of three grown children (whom she regards as her best works of art) and grandmother of three. Sue lives with her husband Walter in Riverside, California.
